What is SimsFiles.de all about?There are tons of Sims 2 downloads on the internet and they are spread over countless websites worldwide. It's hard to keep track of all those and to distinguish between the better and the latter ones. On SimsFiles.de we want to relieve you of this task. You will find the best furniture for The Sims 2 in this clearly arranged and always up-to-date download guidepost. SimsFiles.de is a download directory that guides you to the most interesting downloads by just one click. You can find new files on our site without having to struggle through all the different websites every day. We always bring you directly to that page of the object designer's website where you can find the file you have chosen. Are the listed downloads free of charge?Most of them are. All entries that are not marked specifically can usually be downloaded for free. Some creators are asking for a donation, so you can honour their efforts or help them to get their bills paid ;) Some designers are even selling their creations in order to make money. All files that require any payment are marked with a "P" in our directory. You can hide these files completely by using the corresponding filter if you don't like to see any files that require payments. How can I find downloads / objects?You can browse the archive on SimsFiles.de in multiple ways. First, you can view the files sorted by categories. For example, if your Sim needs a new kitchen, you can list all kinds of kitchen furniture separately. If you already know exactly what you are looking for, then our search function might be the best choice for you as it can bring you to the corresponding entry straight away. Of course, you also have the possibility to access all entries together, independent from any category. In this case you can decide to sort them by date with the most recent or the oldest files first. You might also want to see which entries received the most clicks from others in our "Most Wanted" category or just have a look at some randomly chosen files. How do I use the search functionality?Finding objects using our search functionality is as easy as possible. Enter one or more keywords into the search form on top of the page and click the "search" button. Just a second later you will see all suitable entries found in our database. If the search process fails unexpectedly it is advisable to generalise your search key, e.g. use chair instead of armchair. If you enter multiple keywords separated by space characters our system will be looking for entries which have all the entered keywords in their name or comment. Due to performance- and safety reasons the search engine accepts at most three keywords, even if you enter more. In addition, search keys must have a length of at least four characters. Keys shorter than four characters will be ignored during the search process due to performance reasons. What are filters?Every entry of SimsFiles.de provides additional information. You can see if the download consists of just one single object or a whole furniture set, if the author asks for donations or any other payments or whether the object is recolored or not. All entries providing this additional information can be identified easily by the respective labels at the top right position (next to the name of the file). If you would like to hide specific entries, you can do this by clicking on the filter symbol at the top right position of each page. For example, if you would like to hide all pay objects just click the "pay" button. Once a filter is enabled, you'll notice that the respective button is crossed out. Clicking the same button a second time will release the filter and bring the hidden files back. How can I get the downloaded files into my game?Information about getting the files into your game should be provided by the SimsFiles partner site from which you downloaded the respective file. We can not give a universal explanation about this topic, because the methods and requirements are usually different, depending on which download and object designer you chose. The file xy does not work!Please read the information on our partner sites carefully. Some downloads require particular plug-ins in order to work correctly. In this case you will get additional information on the website that offered the respective download. In many cases downloaded files won't work if you have not installed the CEP (colour options enabler). You can download this tool, which was created by Numenor and RGiles, at modthesims2.com. Will you offer skins, houses and similar files on SimsFiles.de?No. It is currently not planned to list additional types of downloads, because the effort managing such a complex project would be too big. We want not rule out that we may list other downloads in the future. But right now we're concentrated on furniture. The reason for this is simple: We represent the philosophy to show you every entry with a picture, so that you can see what you will get with your download. Skins, genetics and houses are available in such a high quantity, that it is not possible to show you all this player-made content in acceptable quality.
